I want to stop digging my grave with my own knife and fork…š½
Hi, iām Steve.Ā
People who already know me (from my other blogs) know Iāve been struggling to beat all kinds of obstacles since I was registered blind 20 years ago, at age 24ā¦.. BUT now itās time to face my nemesisā¦ Health & Fitness and itās many enemies – overeating, obesity, excuses not to exercise and many more…
This year (2020) I finally said āenough is enoughā and Iām arming myself with the knowledge about the right nutrition, exercise and learning how, as a blind man, I can break free from what feels like inescapable immobility – So that Iām ready to stand up and fight back for my healthā¦AND i’ve never felt better and more energised ā¦..despite being on beta-blockers that slow me down but help keep my blood pressure low enough not to cause more health problems and further sight loss.I know from personal experience that any ādiet” is often short lived. Iāve always enjoyed eating super processed, high calorie Ā foods and my love of burgers, bacon, kebabs and pizza is well known amongst my friends and family ā¦this has continued and my seemingly endless attempts at dieting over the numerous years I’ve tried and failed to lose weight, have resulted in me often putting on more weight than I lost!Ā
So why this blog?
After I worked hard and earned my 70 lb weight loss badge, using my new found knowledge, determination and my Fitbit app, I thought it would be a great idea to start this blog and try to help (in my own small way) inform, motivate and inspire more people to reach their own health and fitness goals by letting you knowā¦”If I can do thisā¦You can too!āĀ šŖš¼
Iām now trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and learning even more about health, fitness, weight training, nutrition and If you want to follow my blog, Iād like to share my adventures with you ā So that we can lose weight and get fitter and stronger Together. š
Application of new found knowledge…
Iāve learned that what you eat and drink, how much you weigh and how physically active you are can all make life changing transformationsā¦ and the fact that Iāve had my blood pressure tablets reduced and yet feel stronger and more able to lead a happier healthier life really does let me know there are benefits to giving up the lazy excuses and junk food.Ā But Iām not a winner every day and I am a true believer in the fact that you need to stop beating yourself up when things get hard and you lapseā¦ “You are a work in progress; which means you get there a little at a time, not all at once.ā
I believe that the greatest gift you can give your loved ones and the world Is a healthier you! ā¤ļø šŖš¼ šĀ
Be inspired…
Steve – Congrats on your new blog and more importantly, your new lifestyle. I am so happy that you have decided to take charge of your health. It is not an easy thing to do. I look forward to reading about your journey.

I love the fact that you’re the 1st one to like and follow this blog, as it was your post about the Fitbit that caused me to buy a Fitbit which in turn helped change my life! You’re such a blessing!

Dear Steve,
You are such a blessing in my life. I am so glad I “met” you and hope and pray that we can meet some day in person.
Ken and I are dying to get back to London, although I think it may be a while before we can do so.
Until then stay well dear friend.
Warmly,
Nancy

Fantastic Steve! Keep striving for excellence in healthy living. Remember how wonderful you feel today. Why would you ever want to give that up to go back to the old lifestyle? (If you discover you’ve added a few extra pounds, nip it in the bud! You’re stronger than the food.) Blessings for healthful loving,

Hi Ellie! Yes i would never want to give up this feeling…It’s amazing how your body rewards you when you exercise…Who doesn’t want that! šŖš¼ š
I can’t tell you enough how your posts have helped change my life. 1 example that made everything click is the post you did about how you wouldn’t through a greasy burger into a temple…So why do we do it with our temple? This completely nailed me as in December last year Sarah & i travelled to Israel and visited the temples etc…And there was no way that i’d litter or throw and greasy food on the floor or at the walls! Then i read your post and looked at what i was eating and from then i havn’t thrown anything into this temple of mine, lol! šŖš¼ š

Ah thanks Steve for the pep talk. Hmm, my newest book is a Christian “chick lit” novel titled “Restoring Hope,” (It’s a sequel to “Casey’s Journey” – which is a sequel to “Sometimes Marriage is a Real Crime.” “Sometimes” isn’t a Christian novel but also not risque’. (That’ll have a Christian sequel in 2021.) I wouldn’t expect you to purchase any, š ha! But I’m sure your wife would enjoy reading them. It’ll come out as an ebook first and then I’ll attempt to create a paperback copy. Of course my non-fiction “Life’s Too Short to Eat Bad Cheese” (Nutritional and Life Lessons God Teaches us) based on my blog, is available in both formats. My Ebook’s are very inexpensive. Thanks again my Christian brother!
